Ok, so I was making some good ol’ macaroni and cheese  (comfort food for the soul and all that jazz) and I realized something.  Now, I have not really seen a lot of people making Mac & Cheese, but amongst my friends I have noticed a peculiar pattern.  When you make Mac and Cheese, do you keep the box for the cooking instructions?  Or how about when you have two or more boxes, do you keep one for reference purposes?  I, myself, partake in this habit, but it is quite puzzling.

Ask yourself this question, how many times have I made Macaroni and cheese in my lifetime?  A lot, right?  Well, if I’ve made it so many times I don’t really need the instructions.  Bring water to boil.  Throw in macaroni.  Boil for 8-10 minutes.  Drain macaroni and place back in pot.  Add a quarter cup of butter (half a stick) and a quarter cup of milk.  Mix in cheese mix.  Voila!  I’m done.  So, why the hell does everyone still keep the boxes for reference?  Though I was a bit daring.  I didn’t look at the box when thinking about the ingredients needed.

Ponder that for a while and let me know if you keep that box for comfort’s sake.
